Treatment

Speech and language therapy provided in the home, daycare, and virtually (via Zoom) are typically 30-minutes. All services include direct therapy, parent education, progress updates, and home practice activities. We also collaborate with school-based teams and other service providers (e.g., occupational therapists, ABA therapists, neurodevelopmental pediatricians and psychologists, etc.) to provide a comprehensive approach, ensuring success in school and at home.

Consultations

Consultations are offered as a supplement to, or, at times, instead of, individual therapy. Consultations may be in person or via phone and include: individual parent education sessions (commonly used when parents aren’t present for therapy), problem solving for situation-specific concerns (e.g., behavior management programs, community engagement planning, etc.), Individualized Family Service Plan and Individualized Education Plan meetings, and more.

Comprehensive speech, language, and feeding evaluations

Evaluations are conducted to determine speech, language, feeding and overall communication skills. Appointments typically last 1 hour and include formal and informal testing, review of results, parent/client education, and recommendations. A detailed report will also be provided within 1-2 weeks of the evaluation session.

Contracting

Sol Speech & Language Therapy is happy to contract onsite-services with private/charter schools, Montessori schools, and preschools. Please reach out through the contact page for more information.

Insurance

We understand insurance can be a headache. This is why our billing team is here to make the process as seamless as possible. We are in-network with Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) and TRICARE (Humana Military) and are out-of-network for most other major insurances. This means our services may be covered completely or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan, provided that your plan allows you to see out-of-network therapists.

We encourage families to call your insurance provider to discuss the exact benefits of your plan. Helpful questions to ask include:

  • What is my deductible/out-of-pocket maximum and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

For out-of-network insurance, our billing team is happy to submit claims on your behalf. Payment for services will be due up-front. Once we receive reimbursement from the out-of-network insurance provider (assuming it covers the cost of services rendered), clients will be reimbursed. It’s important to note that insurance payments may be delayed (up to 3 months), reduced or denied. If this happens and we are out-of-network, you will not be reimbursed for services.

Contact the Sol office for more information on this and private pay rates.

Cancellation Policy

Consistency with therapy is necessary to make real and lasting progress and receive the full benefit of treatment. Cancellations with less than 12 hours notice before the start of the session are charged a $40 cancellation fee. No-shows will be charged the entire cost of the scheduled session. Last minute cancellations on the basis of true emergencies will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
