We are in-network with Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) and TriCare (Humana Military) and out-of-network with Aetna and Cigna.

This means our services may be covered completely or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. We do NOT know the details for your insurance coverage for speech and language therapy or any out of pocket costs until our billing team has your insurance information (insurance card, client name, client date of birth) and verifies benefits.

For out-of-network insurance, our billing team is happy to submit claims on your behalf. Please let us know if you would like to do this before initiating services. Payment for services will still be due when services are rendered.

Once we receive reimbursement from the out-of-network insurance provider (assuming it covers the cost of services rendered), clients will be reimbursed.

It’s important to note that insurance payments may be delayed (up to 3 months), reduced or denied. Insurance reimbursement is not always linear. If claims are denied and we are out-of-network, you will not be reimbursed for services paid for.


Many insurance plans will require a referral from the primary care physician (PCP) before we can begin therapy.

When sending a referral to Sol, this should be done by reaching out directly to your PCP or your child’s PCP.

The PCP can call the insurance company (e.g., BCBS) or upload the referral directly into the appropriate insurance portal online. The referral can also be faxed to us at 202-697-6661.
